Nuffield, Casseldale and the Springs industrial ground were built for heavy engineering, and the openings reflect it: wide, tall, and framed in structural steel that has taken forty years of use. We measure what is actually there, quote any steel repair separately, and build a door that fits the opening in its current condition rather than the one on the original drawing.

Heritage and Art Deco shopfronts in the CBD

The Springs CBD holds one of the larger collections of Art Deco buildings in the country, and a shutter bolted across one of those frontages ruins it. On those buildings we size the box to the reveal, set the guides tight to the existing frame, and finish the door to the building rather than leaving raw galvanising on a period facade.

Materials and finishes

Galvanised steel is the working default and takes the grit off the old mine ground and the East Rand weather without complaint. Aluminium, perforated and transparent curtains are built for the retail frontages at Springs Mall and along the CBD trading streets, where the window has to keep working after closing.

Measuring and manufacturing lead times

We measure on site. A drawing measurement is a starting point, not a manufacturing instruction, and the gap between the two is where badly fitting doors come from. Standard galvanised doors run two to three weeks from approved measurements; fire-rated units, insulated curtains and specials run longer, and we say so before you commit.

Quality control before a door leaves

Every door is assembled and cycled before dispatch. Guides checked for parallel, curtain checked for tracking, drive run through its limits. Finding a fault in the workshop costs an hour; finding it on site costs a day and your goodwill.

Warranty and after-sales support

We warrant our own manufacture and our own installation, so there is no argument later about which party owns a fault. Spares are held locally, and a door we built ten years ago can still be repaired rather than replaced.
